چکیده

The dark matter in the universe can be in the form of a superheavy matter species (wimpzilla). Several mechanisms have been proposed for the production of wimpzilla particles during or immediately following the inflationary epoch. Perhaps the most attractive mechanism is through gravitational particle production, where particles are produced simply as a result of the expansion of the universe. In this paper we present a detailed numerical calculation of wimpzilla gravitational production in hybrid-inflation models and natural-inflation models. Generalizing these findings, we also explore the dependence of the gravitational production mechanism on various models of inflation. We show that superheavy dark matter production seems to be robust, with ΩXh 2 ∼ (MX/10GeV)(TRH/10GeV), so long as MX < HI , where MX is the wimpzilla mass, TRH is the reheat temperature, and HI is the expansion rate of the universe during inflation. Classical inflaton field induced creation of superheavy dark matter

We calculate analytically and numerically the production of superheavy dark matter (X) when it is coupled to the inflaton field φ within the context of a slow-roll mφφ /2 inflationary model with coupling gXφ/2. We find that X particles with a mass as large as 1000 Hi, where Hi is the value of the Hubble expansion rate at the end of inflation, can be produced in sufficient abundance to be cosmol...

Superheavy Dark Matter A

In the standard dark matter scenarios, WIMPs are usually considered to have once been in local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE), and their present abundance is determined by their self-annihilation cross section. In that case, unitarity and the lower bound on the age of the universe constrains the mass of the relic to be less than 500 TeV. 1 On the other hand, if the DM particles never attained ...

Superheavy Dark Matter with Discrete Gauge Symmetries

We show that there are discrete gauge symmetries protect naturally heavy X particles from decaying into the ordinary light particles in the supersymmetric standard model. This makes the proposal very attractive that the superheavy X particles constitute a part of the dark matter in the present universe. It is more interesting that there are a class of discrete gauge symmetries which naturally a...

Superheavy dark matter

We show that, contrary to the standard lore, dark matter may be superheavy (many orders of magnitude larger than the weak scale). We show that massive particles may be produced naturally during the transition from the inflationary phase to either a matter-dominated or radiation-dominated phase as a result of the expansion of the background spacetime acting on vacuum quantum fluctuations of the ...

Superheavy Dark Matter and Parametric Resonance

We propose a new scenario to produce the superheavy dark matter based on the inflationary universe. In our scenario, the inflaton couples to both a boson and a stable fermion. Although the fermion is produced by the inflaton decay after inflation, almost energy density of the inflaton is transmitted into the radiation by parametric resonance which causes the explosively copious production of th...
